The Jacksonville area offers a great variety of golf courses, some of which are ranked among the top in the country. In Ponte Vedra Beach, the Sawgrass Marriott Resort sits on the most famous course, the TPC at Sawgrass, home of the Players Championship in March. Ranked among the nation's top courses, its island hole is one of the most photographed in the world.

The most populous stretch of Jacksonville's coast, Jacksonville Beach boasts a rapidly growing skyline of highrise condos and hotels. At its active center is the new Seawalk Pavillion, an oceanfront ampitheatre, and Latham Plaza, a manicured greenspace located across the street. Together they provide a recreational focal point surrounded by numerous restaurants, nightspots and hotels. Throughout the year both venues host popular festivals that celebrate foods, cultures and music including George's Music Springing in the Blues Festival, Florida's largest outdoor free blues concert. In terms of its natural attraction, Jax Beach, like its neighboring communities, boasts a beautiful wide strand of soft, white sand fronted by sea oats and sand dunes.

Some people leave places like New York and Chicago to get away from the hustle and craziness big city life. Jacksonville is a hidden gem often called a big little small town because of warmth and southern hospitality consistently displayed by the people who've made Jacksonville home. The saying must be true "the warmer the weather the warmer the people". The city of Jacksonville offers a combination of the beach and the city life, if you want it. The fresh seafood at beach restaurants where most have outdoor decks and sometimes live bands playing, there is no such thing as bad view! Some of the best southern cooking restaurants ever! Never try to compare any city in the south and especially in Florida to any other place in the north or Midwest there is nothing to compare. Jacksonville to me is not just a place to visit but a place to live. Some people leave their cities to get away for vacation but people in Jacksonville its right in their backyard.
